In Episode 2, Matt and I talk about our roles, responsibilities and relationships, including how we got here and what makes it unique, special and successful. We intended for these episodes to be around 15-25 minutes and this one took all of 25 minutes (and we have more to share).
As you recall, in the Pilot, we wanted to share our back stories, and this episode was vital so you know broader context.
In this episode, we talk about:
- How it all comes down to Trust
- Having different perspectives, which is good
- The importance of Elbow Time and why we travel and room together often
- Matt’s focus as COO is People, Productivity and Process
- Cory’s focus as CEO is People, Product, Promotion.

Spaces Matt, spaces! 😉
Refreshing to hear both of you talking about: “focus on people”; “processes”; “encouragement”. In internet marketing/development, you all to often experience the people Cory affectionately referred to as, “sucking”. It was also nice to hear your approach on “diversity vs conflict” in thought processes, respect and trust.
Final thought: I would argue that “dumb luck” is a misnomer – everything happens for a reason, it may not have been made clear to us at the moment (although it’s apparent your hard work is paying off).
Great job and thanks again for sharing!
Greg
Thanks Greg for this and your other comment.
I’ll only speak for myself but I’d bet Matt feels the same way …. everything does happen for a reason. But we took opportunity (luck or blessing) and have sought to make the most of it.
